Westwood Village, Danbury, CT 2006
The Westwood Village series was made in 2006 on another spring break road trip. Why March in the US is a time that looms large in my career I don't know. March is a "false start" month in New England in that it aspires towards spring and warmth but never fails to disappoint. I do know that gray skies were important here with no leaves and no green grass. After finding this condo development that was a little past its prime on the edge of a hill and making the pictures, I found a sales brochure on my way out and incorporated several of its pages into the series.
This being 2006, the series at this time were made by shooting film, scanning the negatives and then making archival inkjet prints. The prints are 11 inches square and are printed as duotones.
